Job Overview

Assigned to ensure that all importations are manifested via e2m of the Bureau of Customs. He/she shall likewise be assigned to prepare import entries and lodge them thru the Value Added Service Providers and prepare documents relevant to the filing of entries.

He will act as lead of the Company’s Brokerage Department.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares the documents related to application of Tax Exemption Certificates (TECs).
  • Liaises with government agencies to secure TECs for shipments, in coordination with client/operator.
  • Secures pre-shipment import or export permits from government agencies.
  • Ensure that all import and export shipments are cleared from Customs without delays.
  • Encodes import TEC records in the database.
  • Prepares Inward and/or Outward Manifest for the Import or Export Clearance of cargoes.
  • Ensure correct Harmonized Tariff classification is declared including computation of estimate duties and
  • taxes.
  • Coordinates with immediate superior and/or client on documentary and resource requirements to clear
  • shipments with customs.
  • Plans on appropriate customs clearance methods for every shipment.
  • Submits report to the Department of Energy for the re-exported items after the exploration projects.
  • Assigns specific tasks to customs representatives, drivers and liaison officer in order to meet deadlines on deliveries.
  • Reports to client on status of shipment clearances.
  • Communicates with government staff/represents the company in all government agencies who has interface on the clearance of shipments.
  • Presents analysis to the Management on cost effective clearance.
  • Communicates with shippers and consignees on concerns affecting shipments.
  • Plans itineraries of drivers and customs representatives.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by immediate superior, Department Head and/or the CEO


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Completed a Bachelor's degree
  • Customs Broker License an advantage
  • Three (3) year experience in a customs brokerage or freight forwarding company
  • Awareness on Dangerous Goods classification
  • Professional driver’s license an edge but no mandatory
  • Computer literate
  • Philippine regulatory familiarity and/or related support functions.
  • Other relevant customs brokerage and safety-related trainings and/or experience.
