To review and streamline operational processes and to ultimately make GCAT’s catering operations in Manila and Clark most efficient by reaching operational excellence and highest quality levels.

 

Responsibilities: 


 Includes the following; but not limited to other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

  • To get fully acquainted to the features of the Gate Gourmet’s “GATE OPEX” principals.
  • To implement and introduce the GATE OPEX principals and standards, up to the defined and with management aligned level.
  • To organize and conduct GATE OPEX staff familiarization trainings with the aim to achieve highest possible efficiency levels.
  • To have a strong focus on quality, food- and workplace safety and security.
  • To be an innovator by permanently identifying operational cost saving opportunities and to support regional- and local management to reach financial targets.
  • To define and implement operational KPI’s and a reporting system, in order to continuously monitor and measure operational performance/quality.
  • To identify the optimal level of required resources to be able to reach highest profitability levels in parallel with best product quality.
  • To demonstrate financial judgment by supporting the regional and local management teams that operational budgets are created accurately, that they are communicated out, that responsibilities are aligned and budgets are delivered as planned
  • To continuously develop and improve the skills of the operational team members in all units.
  • To take full ownership to lead compliance adherence of the units to all local and international regulatory requirements and customer- and internal policies and procedures.
  • If required, perform root-cause analysis and create robust action- and business improvement plans in order to avoid negative impact on the operational performance of the individual units.

Qualifications: 


Education and/or Experience

Graduate of any four (4) year Business course, MBA an advantage. Candidate with any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved can also be considered. Minimum seven to ten years successful track record as a Manager or Assistant Manager in the Airline- or a closely related service industry, work experience in the industry outside the Philippines is an advantage. Solid finance and budget establishment- and execution experience are required. Proven experience of successfully leading a team of Managers and Supervisors in an operational environment is required. Previous customer service and/or account management experiences are an advantage of the successful candidate. Strong innovation track record and proof that change management principles were applied in earlier jobs. Advanced user of MS-Office full Suite to be able to write communications and to create Excel based financial plans, mathematical analysis etc.

Language Skills

Excellence skill in both verbal and written communication as well as good acumen in business and management–related writing.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to exercise above average mathematical skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  

Reasoning and Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

No specific licenses or accreditation is critical to the position.

Physical Demands

The employee is required to exert physical demands on regular basis: sitting, walking, viewing a computer monitor, typing, handwriting, answering the phone, talking and hearing.

Work Environment

The typical noise level in the work environment of this position is of moderate notice such as business office with computer and printers and light traffic noise.  As an essential function of this position, the employee must be able to handle levels of stress satisfactorily and be congenial with other employees, clients, and other counterparts at all times.  Good people skills in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships.
