JOB OBJECTIVE(S)
The Production Planning Analyst is responsible in providing production data that are vital in the
efficiency of production operation and providing assistance to the Production Planning Supervisor.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Production Planning Analyst reports directly to the Production Planning Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following: but not limited to other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
A. Drafts Master Production Schedule for approval of Production Planning Supervisor.
B. Confers with Section Chefs to determine status/update of production.
C. Prepares Raw Material Forecast. Maintains and monitors Production Raw Material inventory
D. Prepares Production Reports.
E. Encodes Approved Recipes into SACS (including Labor Points/CPC) and manage Recipe
Database.
F. Schedule, organize, & monitor frequent yield tests.
G. Provide Yield Test report and Wastage Report.
REPORTS AND RECORDS
This position has access to the following reports and records:
1. Airline news, SACS E-Specs, Yield Test Reports, Wastage Report.
2. CPC
CONTACT WITH OTHERS
1. Immediate superior and department head.
2. All Production employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
3-5 years working experience in a mass food production facility. Has high organizational skill and
planning expertise. Knowledgeable in production planning in a food manufacturing environment.
Intermediate skills in Office programs and SACS.
Language Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong and effective
communication, documentation and organizational skills.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to exercise above average mathematical skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret various graphs.
Reasoning and Ability
Supervisory skills in scheduling, career development, budget, food and supplies ordering, over-all daily production management, intermediate communication line between staff and management. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (as required)
At least Basic Food Safety Certification, no specific license or accreditation is critical to the position, however solid background in standard operating procedures and HACCP principles is important to carry out duties and responsibilities. Experience in airline catering an advantage.
Physical Demands
In good physical well being, able to handle long distance walking and stair climbing activities as well as standard office work activities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Typical noise level in general high volume kitchen environment and office. As an essential function of this position, the employee must be able to handle various levels of stress satisfactorily and be congenial with employees, clients, suppliers and counterparts at all times. Good people skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
