Customer Operations | Beam Installer (IT&E-2124)

The Beam Installer is responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance in equipment and service installation to consumer sales. The Beam Installer is responsible for operation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LTE, Wireless and network equipment. Plan, perform and recommend a line survey of wireless PTMP link, and LTE signal coverage for consumer customers. This position will work under the guidance and general supervision of the Beam Installation Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Employee will:

  • Know and uphold the established IT&E mission, policies and procedures, IT&E and department objectives, quality assurance and safety programs and standards.
  • Make site visits, as required to view, and analyze client equipment and service installation requirements, as assigned by the department supervisor.
  • Assist in analyzing client needs and available product options to design the most affordable system that meets the client’s needs and betters that of the competition.
  • Monitor system and equipment installation and programming to ensure that technical capabilities and performance meet compliance standards.
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide in-house technical training to consumer sales and installation and maintenance staff in telephony and circuit solutions, and user training to the customer end-user and the customer systems administrator.
  • Assist in keeping records up to date.
  • Install, operate, repair, and maintain the following wireless equipment: LTE radios, PTMP radios, WIFI routers and mesh.
  • Perform RF line-of-sight survey, signal strength, coverage throughput and optimization solution.
  • Perform trouble isolation and resolution, site acceptance testing and resolving alarm conditions.
  • Monitor trouble tickets, troubleshoot customer complaints and closing of tickets.
  • Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned or required.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

 

  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, electronic or related field, or a combination of completion of a technical certificate program and equivalent additional work experience.
  • Two years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of customer premise telecommunications systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

 

  • Certification by the vendor on the various systems and equipment being sold is desirable but is not required at time of hire.

The physical activity of this position includes Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling, repetitive motions – making substantial movements of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers, grasping, feeling, Talking-Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, repetitive motions.

The physical requirements of this position involve medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

For visual acuity the worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach; performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as ones by carpenters, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.


Working Conditions


The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

Formerly Micronesian Telecommunications Corp, IT&E was a part of Verizon International. CITADEL acquired IT&E in 2005 after successfully navigating the US CIFUS process and the Federal Communications Commission. In 2006, a partnership was established with Sumitomo Corporation, one of Japan’s largest trading houses, which invested in the company as part of its telecommunications push. The company acquired IT&E in Guam, and together, became the largest wireless provider in Micronesia. The entire company was renamed IT&E. IT&E was the first in the region to offer 3G services with the launch of CDMA EVDO in 2009. It soon followed with the launch of 4G LTE in 2011.
