JOB DESCRIPTION
The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for the Unit’s daily food safety parameter checks and control ensuring that operational processes, food safety guidelines and quality assurance specifications are within the specified standards set by the Unit.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following; but not limited to other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
• Ensure that all departmental activities are carried out effectively according to GG standards and
departmental plans.
• Carry out and maintain food safety control system of the unit in accordance with GG Food Safety
Standard.
• Ensure that hygiene rules/practices are in compliance with GG Food Safety Standard, as well as the local
laws and regulations.
• Regularly review food safety and hygiene procedures, specifications, and instructions as mandated by
the department head.
• Conduct training of relevant personnel in Food Safety and Hygiene.
• Perform monthly internal food safety audit in the unit as supervised by the department supervisor
and/or head.
• Prepare monthly food safety and quality reports subject to the department head’s review and approval.
• Handle and investigate customer complaints in view of AFP (Alleged Food Poisoning).
• Assist in the audit of suppliers as required per GG Food Safety Standard.
• Coordinate and perform food sampling for microbiological analysis, whether in-house or external,
manage in-house laboratory, and accordingly advise/report microbiological analysis evaluation to unit
FSQA Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of any four (4) year course in Bachelor of Science in Food Science, BS Microbiology or BS
Nutrition. Candidate may or may not have any work experience prior to handling the position.
• Above average in verbal and written communication as well as good acumen in science and technical-related writing.
• Ability to exercise above average mathematical skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (as required)
Minimum Bachelor of Science Diploma holder in Natural Sciences, Applied Sciences and related fields of discipline. Specific licenses or accreditation is an advantage to the position.
• Can perform occupational tasks and travel requirements as necessary. The employee is required to exert physical demands on regular basis: sitting, walking, viewing a computer monitor and laboratory equipment, typing, handwriting, answering the phone, talking and hearing.
• The typical noise level in the work environment of this position is of moderate notice such as business office, computer, printers and light traffic noise. As an essential function of this position, the employee must be able to handle different levels of stress satisfactorily, manage work-place conflict, collaboration and teamwork. Congenial but firm with other employees, clients and other counterparts at all times. Good people skills in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships.
